There’s Going to Be a Scooby-Doo Wrestlemania Movie, Because Obviously

Scooby-Doo WWEWhen you think of all the things that go together —peanut butter and jelly, sunshine and unicorns, rainy days and Mondays — you never think about Scooby-Doo and the Organization Formerly Known as the WWF. But, guess what! Everyone’s favorite mystery solving mutt is going to be sharing his Scooby Snacks (what are in those anyway?) with the grapplers in the WWE.

Warner Bros. and WWE announced today (via press release) a joint, straight-to-video animated movie where the Mystery Machine is going to pull up to Wrestlemania and the crew has to solve the caper of a giant bear who keeps attacking the ring. Did someone resurrect George “The Animal” Steele? Just like those Scooby episodes of old where they went down into a mine with the Harlem Globetrotters, this movie will feature the voices of a bunch of wrestlers. Which ones? Triple H®, John Cena®, Kane, The Miz®, Brodus Clay™, Santino Marella®, Sin Cara™ and AJ™. Yes, all those names are copyright protected, so don’t try to use them. Especially AJ. No one has been named that before.

So, yes, this is happening, even though you’ll have to wait until 2014 to see it. It makes complete sense! People love Scooby and professional wrestling, right? And this is a perfect match. I guess? It certainly seems like a move fueled by nostalgia. Take two things people used to love and smash them together and you get something people love even more. Remember how well that worked when Tiffany and Debbie Gibson were in Mega Python vs. Gatoroid? How long before Kerri Strug stars in a Jetsons movie? Oh, I’d actually want to see that!
