Twilight author Stephenie Meyer is really starting to spread her wings within the movie industry: She’s producing an upcoming adaptation of Lois Duncan’s novel Down a Dark Hall.
The 1974 young-adult suspense book tells the story of a young girl named Kit who is sent to the all-girls Blackwood boarding school — and must unravel its history and mystery (and four students!) before it’s too late.
This is not Duncan’s first novel to get movie treatment; it’s not even her first from the 1970s: 1971’s Hotel for Dogs and 1973’s I Know What You Did Last Summer have both been adapted into movies.
Dark Hall is also far from Meyer’s first foray into film: Aside from her producer credits on the two Breaking Dawn movies, she’s also producing the literary-minded rom-com Austenland and next year’s adaptation of her own novel, The Host.
