In a rather odd transaction, basic-cable stations TV Land and TV Guide announced on Monday that they have jointly acquired the HBO series Curb Your Enthusiasm.
Reruns of the comedy, starring Seinfeld co-creator Larry David, will first air on TV Guide Network in February, and once its run ends there, it will shift over to TV Land — tentatively scheduled for 2013.
The very MA-rated series seems a weird fit for basic cable, but, hey, if A&E could pull off Sopranos episodes (which are still somehow entertaining even without the F-bombs, gratuitous violence and Bada Bing scenes), Curb should still be highly watchable — especially if you don’t have HBO!
