Frontrunner Nicole Scherzinger of the Pussycat Dolls was selected winner on the season finale of Dancing With The Stars last night. Scherzinger and her partner, season 7 champion Derek Hough, beat out their competitors by seven points to claim the top prize. Despite her background as a dancer, the Pussycat Doll said she “was genuinely surprised,” by the win. “I had the most amazing people I was up against. It was so awesome; it’s still surreal.”
Coming in second place was figure skater and fan-favorite Evan Lysacek, and newscaster Erin Andrews came in third. Lysacek remained optimistic about the experience. “The most surprising thing to me is the bond that we all shared as a cast …we all left with a new family and we walked out of that building hand in hand.” We wish Nicole, Evan and Erin a fond farewell, and hope they enjoy their fifteen minutes or sweet, sweet recognition before they fade into obscurity.
