Moviegoers who have never experienced Alien on the big screen should not pass up the opportunity to see the re-release of Ridley Scott’s Alien: The Director’s Cut, while those who have seen it before will be astounded by the 25-year-old film’s enduring ability to “brutalize.”
As much as In the Cut wants to push the envelope with its sexuality, and as much as Meg Ryan wants to win an Academy Award, unfortunately, neither makes the cut.
Brother Bear should please most kids, but its formulaic story, thinly drawn characters and predictable animation prove Disney needs to try a little harder next time.
Those who haven’t seen the movies being spoofed should skip Scary Movie 3 altogether. Those who can pick them out will laugh at some of the references, but will also have to sit through some painfully bad scenes and plotlines to get to them.
