Minions and Monsters Reveals Star-Packed Cast Ahead of 2026 Release

Illumination and Universal Pictures have officially unveiled the impressive voice cast for Minions and Monsters, the newest film connected to the massively successful Minions universe. Packed with award-winning actors and comedy favorites, the upcoming animated movie is expected to bring even more chaos and laughs to theaters in summer 2026.

The cast for Minions and Monsters includes Academy Award winners Allison Janney, Christoph Waltz, and Jeff Bridges. Joining them are Oscar nominee Jesse Eisenberg, actress Zoey Deutch, and Trey Parker, the co-creator of South Park. Fans can also expect appearances from comedian Bobby Moynihan and veteran voice actor Phil LaMarr.

The film is directed by Pierre Coffin, who helped create the signature style of the Despicable Me franchise and famously voices the Minions themselves. The screenplay comes from Brian Lynch and Coffin, while longtime Illumination leader Chris Meledandri serves as producer. Watch the trailer here.

According to the official story details, Minions and Monsters follows the Minions after they become Hollywood stars, accidentally unleash monsters onto Earth, and scramble to save the planet from the destruction they caused. The film promises the same outrageous humor and fast-paced comedy that turned the Minions into a worldwide sensation.

The Minions and Despicable Me franchise has earned more than $5.6 billion globally, making it one of the biggest animated series ever. Following the success of Minions: The Rise of Gru, anticipation for Minions and Monsters is already building ahead of its July 1, 2026 theatrical release.
