Sunday: ‘American Music Awards’

[IMG:L]American Music Awards — 8/7c on ABC

They’re no Grammys, but the American Music Awards’ star-studded lineup is just as formidable.

Case in point: Mary J. Blige, Chris Brown, Daughtry, Celine Dion, Duran Duran, Fergie, the Jonas Brothers, Alicia Keys, Lenny Kravitz, Queen Latifah, Avril Lavigne, Maroon 5, Rascal Flatts, Rihanna, Nicole Scherzinger, Sugarland and will.i.am are all slated to perform. So, if you listen to the radio, you’re pretty much on cloud nine tonight.

If you’re missing Jimmy Kimmel Live because of the writers’ strike, you’re also in for a treat, because ABC more or less has Kimmel on retainer for hosting duty and he gets the nod tonight–for a fourth time.

Justin Timberlake, Beyonce, Linkin Park and Daughtry all lead the pack with three nominations apiece.

[IMG:R]And be ready for a very special guest who shall remain nameless–OK, it’s Beyonce. That wasn’t a secret to begin with.

Nature — 8/7c on PBS
Nature’s ugliest creatures are spotlighted, including the dung beetle, elephant-seal bull, ghost-faced bat, Indian stork, naked mole rat, needle-toothed viperfish, proboscis monkey, star-nosed mole, tapeworm, vulture and warthog. But Nature also shows how such creatures use their ugliness to their advantage. Redemption!
