To today’s generation, Don Rickles is probably best known as the voice of Mr. Potato Head from the Toy Story movies.

But to previous generations, Rickles is nothing short of a stand-up-comedy legend.

In the documentary Mr. Warmth–which was only shown at this year’s New York Film Festival prior to its airing on HBO tonight–director John Landis (Coming to America), a legend in his own right, captures via devotee testimonials the impact Rickles has had.

Contemporaries like Bob Newhart and Debbie Reynolds, as well as younger admirers like Chris RockJay Leno and Robin Williams, all chime in on the topic of Rickles.

Also featured are clips from a never-before-shown Rickles performance in Las Vegas from last year.
