Today: The View vs. Ellen DeGeneres

The View vs. [“The Donald” on] The Ellen DeGeneres Show – ABC & NBC

Morning and daytime talk shows are supposed to be innocent. While watching Live with Regis and Kelly, The Ellen DeGeneres Show, or The View, stay-at-home or work-from-home folks should have a serene morning–sipping their coffee, reading a newspaper, and taking in some light banter and celebrity appearances.

But this all got flushed down the toilet when Rosie O’Donnell took over Meredith Vieira’s chair on the provocative, roundtable chatfest, The View. Since then, she has offended the Asian American community, outed the-supposed-to-be-‘straight’ Clay Aiken, and got into the most bitter celebrity feud in years with the equally-as-juvenile Donald Trump.

The battle, which started with a few harmless comments by O’Donnell  about Trump’s sketchy handling of the Miss USA controversy, has hopefully run its course, but this morning there is potential for a re-ignition. Mr. Trump shows-up on Ellen’s show to discuss the new season of The Apprentice and, like all of his other appearances, will probably get persuaded to throw more vicious insults at The View gals.

Meanwhile on The View, a comedienne who is always game for a bout of gossiping and mud-flinging, Kathy Griffin, will surely have some material prepared about Rosie & Barbara vs. Donald.

The View airs today at 11/10c on ABC.

The Ellen DeGeneres Show airs today at 4/3c on NBC.
