20 years ago, Michael Jordan took a tiny break from slaying the basketball court in order to save the earth and the Looney Tunes from a bunch of crass aliens who were out to get us. After Space Jam, MJ went on to snag some more NBA rings, Billy Murray went on to be one of the most prolific comedians of our era, and the Looney Tunes continue to kill the cartoon game. But, whatever happened to actress Penny Bae Bridges, the little girl who played Michael Jordan’s daughter in the movie? In the film, a then 5-year-old Bridges teamed up with Daffy Duck and Bugs Bunny in order to get MJ’s lucky shorts and sneakers back so that they could rescue the Looney Tunes.

After appearing in Clint Eastwood‘s 1999 film True Crime and having a recurring role on the UPN sitcom Half & Half, Bridges decided to give up acting for a bit. She told the Huffington Post, “I kind of got to the point where I was missing a lot of school, and I couldn’t participate in sports. And I guess I just wanted to feel like I was a normal teenager, so I played volleyball. I was second team all-state.” She also stated that though she planned to get back into acting post-high school, the birth of her now six-year-old son but those plans on the backbunner. Bridges is currently an artist, musician and hairstylist. You can check out her Etsy store here. However, with rumors of a Space Jam 2 starring LeBron James, Bridges has stated that she would love to be involved in the project in some way. She said, “Oh, I would definitely be interested in coming back. No. I haven’t heard anything, but I would be a little sad if I wasn’t cast at least somewhere. I know basketball fans have their rivalries and opinions on LeBron, but I think it would be awesome. I think it would be a good movie to do. Hey, maybe I can play his girlfriend.” We definitely think Bridges would be fantastic in any role. After all, her uncle is Diff’rent Strokes star Todd Bridges, so acting is in her blood.
