I’m usually not one to gripe about movies being historically accurate. I’ll allow certain changes to be made to our history for the sake of an entertaining narrative. You just have to remember that you’re watching a movie and not a documentary. After all, movies are supposed to entertain us, not really inform us (at least a giant Jerry Bruckheimer movie isn’t). So yes, Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides will feature Blackbeard flying a flag with a skull dripping blood out of it’s mouth. Historically accurate? Not even close. But awesome? You bet your rum drinking ass it is.
