‘Zombieland’ Scribes Bring Us ‘Cowboy Ninja Viking’

Cowboy Ninja VikingZombieland was the rare movie that worked as a comedy and as a horror film. Sure there weren’t that many scares, but there were enough and it was done well enough to warrant it being classified as a horror comedy film. But can the writers repeat the magic and blend the genres once again? Disney certainly hopes so because they hired Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese to adapt the graphic novel Cowboy Ninja Viking into a film.

The graphic novel follows a doctor who takes people suffering from multiple personality disorder and turns them into an elite super spies or counter intelligence or assassin agents or whatever. And they’re also called The Triplets, probably because they all have three personalities, but that’s just a guess. And of course, The Triplets get wild and unruly and it’s up to the craziest of them all to bring them all down. The craziest one? They call him Cowboy Ninja Viking.

How to feel about this? While Zombieland was a very original and fun movie, this is Disney we’re talking about. I’m all for going all out and mixing up genres (I really can’t wait for SuckerPunch) but how far out will Disney let them go? Also why cowboys, ninjas, and vikings? That’s a very Pro-American, Japanese, and Scandinavian combination. Why not any Eskimos? Where is the equal representation of my northern friends!

Also could I make a movie called Ninja Viking Cowboy? And what about Pirates? How do they fit into all this? I have questions!
