Leonardo DiCaprio is set to produce a small screen adaptation of Aldous Huxley‘s novel Island.
The actor will develop the project as part of his production company Appian Way along with bosses at Good Company Films. The series is inspired by the Brave New World author’s final book, which debuted in 1962.
The story focuses on a journalist, who is shipwrecked on the fictional utopian island of Pala in the Indian Ocean. While he initially sets out to exploit the land’s natural resources, he finds his mission compromised when he forges a connection to the people of the region.
The news comes following the debut of the TV version of Huxley’s famed 1932 book Brave New World, featuring Alden Ehrenreich and Demi Moore.
DiCaprio launched Appian Way in 2004 and has since been a part of developing numerous films and shows including the upcoming The Right Stuff miniseries for streaming service Disney+.
