NBC Picks Up J.J. Abrams’ ‘Lost’ Alum Show

Michael EmersonThose who have been searching their television guides for a replacement for Lost need look no further. In a move that is sure to excite many fans of ABC’s beloved fantasy drama, NBC has ordered a pilot from J.J. Abrams and his Bad Robot production banner for an original new show that will star Michael Emerson and Terry O’Quinn, two members of the ensemble cast that made the mystical mystery series so great for six seasons. The project first came to light earlier this week.

The pilot will be produced through Bad Robot’s lucrative television production deal with Warner Bros. TV and the trade notes that Josh Applebaum and Andre Nemec will write and executive produce.  The duo of dialogue dealers are longtime Abrams collaborators and specialize in spy-related material, as they’ve worked on the producer’s hit show Alias as well as the short lives She Spies and penned the screenplay for Mission Impossible IV. This makes them ideal candidates to run the show as initial reports have claimed that it involves a pair of former black ops agents. Might I suggest a title? Locke and Linus? Huh? Huh?

Unfortunately, other than that paper thin description, nothing else is known about the show, but I am nonetheless stoked. Both O’Quinn and Emerson are tremendous actors and their on-screen chemistry is so potent that it’s literally explosive. This is great news for fans of the actors, Lost and foremost, quality television.
