Steve Irwin’s Daughter on U.S. Tour

The daughter of late Crocodile Hunter star Steve Irwin is set to make a number of high-profile appearances in the U.S. this week to promote her new series Bindi, The Jungle Girl.

Eight-year-old Bindi Irwin, whose 26-part documentary will be broadcast on the Discovery Kids network later this year, will appear on The Ellen DeGeneres Show and The Late Show With David Letterman. She will also address the National Press Club in Washington and perform at concerts in Los Angeles and New York.

Discovery senior vice president Annie Howell says, “She’ll be welcomed with open arms and rightly so. She’s a very special child.”

Bindi will also join Australian actors Russell Crowe and Naomi Watts, as well as Australian-born media baron Rupert Murdoch, for a gala dinner.

Naturalist Steve Irwin died in September 2006 when a stingray barb pierced his heart.

His daughter’s U.S. tour coincides with the airing of Ocean’s Deadliest, the documentary Irwin was making off Australia’s northeast coast when he died.
