Bryan Cranston taking The Dangerous Book for Boys adaptation to Amazon

Bryan Cranston’s delayed TV adaptation of The Dangerous Book For Boys has found a new home at Amazon.

The show has been a passion project for the Breaking Bad star after optioning the rights to Conn and Hal Iggulden’s 2006 book in 2014.

He teamed up with Superbad filmmaker Greg Mottola to write the first two episodes of the show, which was initially set to be produced for NBC network for the 2014-2015 season.

However, the show has now moved to Amazon’s streaming service, the same company behind Cranston’s recent TV offering, drama series Sneaky Pete, which has since been picked up for a second season.

The Dangerous Book for Boys will debut as a six-episode fantasy series, which will centre on a boy named Wyatt and his brothers as they come to terms with the death of their inventor father Patrick.

Mottola will direct the project, which will begin production in New York this summer (17), reports Deadline.com.

Cranston will executive produce via his Moonshot Entertainment, alongside Mottola.

The actor isn’t the first star to eye an adaptation of The Dangerous Book For BoysHollywood producer Scott Rudin previously picked up the rights for a potential feature film, which failed to come to fruition.
