‘Don’t Trust the B’ Star Dreama Walker Grew Up Van Der Beek-less

Dreama Walker Don't Trust the BRoommate to the B— in Apartment 23 was not the role Dreama Walker was born to play.

Hollywood.com chatted with the Tampa native, who said she was “completely robbed as a child” and forbidden from watching Dawson’s Creek, the ultimate teen melodrama of the last 20 years. Now, Dawson (a.k.a. James Van Der Beek) is back and better than ever, playing a douchey version of himself, who uses his Creek claim to fame to score chicks on ABC’s new comedy Don’t Trust the B—- in Apartment 23. And yes, “I Don’t Want to Wait” will rear its ugly, contagious head at least a few times.

Naturally, Walker, who never got a chance to fawn over Dawson and Joey’s will-they-won’t-they relationship, stars alongside James as the super cute and super innocent June, who’s pulled into the titular B—‘s sadistic world after some untimely New York misfortune. The “soulless” Chloe (Krysten Ritter) must show June how to survive in the Big Apple and Van Der Beek’s drop-ins are the anti-Dawson.

Walker also mentioned she’s excited to deviate from the “brat” roles she scored on hits like Gossip Girl and she dished on what we can expect from the “awful” Chloe, the womanizing Van Der Beek and future romantic plotlines. Don’t get too excited, she said a relationship with Van Der Beek is unlikely (for now, wink, wink) even though “June is definitely a huge fan of Dawson’s Creek.”

Well, even though Walker may not have been a Dawson disciple growing up, it still works and Don’t Trust the B—- in Apartment 23 is sure to catch everyone off guard. It’s like Lost … only with comedy and without that whole magic island thing.

Don’t Trust the B—- premieres Wednesday, April 11 at 9:30 PM (ET/PT) on ABC, but in the meantime, watch our full interview with Dreama Walker right now!
