‘Ellen DeGeneres Show’ Renewed Through 2017

Ellen DeGeneres

Pizza, yellow lab puppies, Mario Kart, The Princess Bride — just a few things that everybody on Earth likes. Also among the pack: Ellen DeGeneres, whose accessible charms have regaled daytime television viewers for nearly 10 years. Now, to the delight of anyone whose afternoons are spent in the company of the comedian, Deadline reports that The Ellen DeGeneres Show has been renewed through 2017.

The NBC Studios talk series — which launched in 2003 following DeGeneres’ short-lived second go at sitcom stardom on CBS — was renewed in 2010 to last through 2014. Now, we’ll get three additional years of the cheerfully pithy DeGeneres and her patronage of young girls singing “Super Bass” in which to revel.

And while all this is well and good, when are we going to get that Mr. Wrong sequel?
