Mick Jagger To Host ‘SNL’ Season Finale: Predicting the Sketches

Mick JaggerAlthough you might already be planning your gymnastics festival for the commemoration of Atatürk, you’ll want to keep May 19 open, as this date marks the season finale of Saturday Night Live, which will feature host/musical guest Mick Jagger. This will mark the Rolling Stones frontman’s first stint as solo host of the show. He and the band made their first SNL appearance back in 1978 — that’s an enviable span of relevance.

There is no shortage of fun that Saturday Night Live can have with Jagger at the wheel, especially considering his persistently active professional life. Here are a few pieces of the rock legend’s recent limelight activity that might be fruitful sketch material.

Jagger’s Duet with Barack Obama

Earlier in 2012, Jagger performed at the White House, welcoming President Barack Obama onstage to join him in a rendition of “Sweet Home Chicago.” Jagger can team with Fred Armisen (in the latter’s final performance as an SNL cast member) in a sketch that takes the pair’s musical collaboration on the road — complete with Kenan Thompson as an overshadowed B.B. King.

Jagger’s Exclusion from the “T.H.E. (The Hardest Ever)” Performance at the AMAs

In late 2011, will.i.am released the single “T.H.E. (The Hardest Ever),” on which Jagger and Jennifer Lopez provide vocals, but will.i.am and Lopez performed the song at the 2012 American Music Awards without Jagger. Now, there was probably no animosity involved in Jagger’s exclusion, but it’d be fun to see an amplified disagreement explaining why the Stones singer did not join in on the performance, or some fictional blowout by Jagger after the fact.

Jagger vs. Adam Levine

Is there a standing Adam Levine impressionist on SNL? If not, Taran Killam could probably do the trick. A skit wherein Jagger challenges the Maroon 5 frontman to prove that he actually does indeed have the Moves Like Jagger. This will be doubly successful if the dispute is settled via swordplay.

What else is up for grabs in recent Jagger news? What impressions do you want to see the rock legend try out?
