Sheen Kicks Up the Weird in ‘Sheenpocalypse Now’ Promo for Comedy Central Roast

Even for Charlie Sheen, this video is a little bizarre. The new promo (entitled “Sheenpocalypse Now”) for The Comedy Central Roast of Charlie Sheen, follows in the footsteps of the previous one by parodying a classic war film—it’s hard to say what this says about Sheen, or the way he looks at the world, or the way the world looks at him… but there’s a heap of eerie, ominous subtext in there somewhere.

In any event, the new video starts out paying homage to Apocalypse Now (complete with remorseful voiceover, underwater trudgery, and some Doors music in the background). However, it takes an even stranger turn once an unexpected cameo takes place. The video does end with a question we’ve all been asking for quite some time, but that there doesn’t seem to be an answer to.

Enjoy the promo, and The Comedy Central Roast of Charlie Sheen will air next Monday, September 19 at 10 p.m. ET.

Staff editor Michael Arbeiter’s natural state of being can best be described as “mild panic attack.” His earliest memories of growing up in Queens, New York, involve nighttime conversations with a voice from his bedroom wall (the jury’s still out on what that was all about) and a love for classic television that spawned from the very first time he was allowed to watch “The Munsters.” Attending college at SUNY Binghamton, a 20-year-old Michael learned two things: that he could center his future on this love for TV and movies, and that dragons never actually existed — he was kind of late in the game on that one.
