It looks like The Voice is going to be playing an A-list game of musical chairs over its next two seasons.

Parent network NBC recently announced that original coaches Christina Aguilera and Cee Lo Green had signed on to come back to The Voice in Season 5, leaving many to wonder: what about Shakira and Usher? Fans of the popular singing competition have been vocal in their rallying cries against this decision due to the popularity of season 4’s two new coaches — multi-Grammy winner Usher and global superstar Shakira — who many have considered to have been a perfect addition to The Voice’s line-up.

Well, now it’s looking like NBC has found a happy compromise: everyone is coming back — just not all at once. According to EW.com, original judges Aguilera and Green will join Adam Levine and Blake Shelton this fall during Season 5.

However in the in the spring of 2014, Usher and Shakira will be back to claim their spinning chairs as the coaches of Season 6 along side Levine and Shelton. Certainly this should appease fans of both the old and new cycle of judges, and keeps a fresh perspective from season to season. We’re getting a little dizzy from all these swtich-ups, but there is one thing that will remain the same: Carson Daly has signed on to remain the host of The Voice for both Seasons 5 and 6. And thank goodness for that.
