Diddy, Wentz, Swift Rock the Vote

While America flocked to the polling places to cast their ballots today, so did the stars.

Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs took a break from celebrating his 39th birthday in New York to wait in line at a nearby school in midtown Manhattan to vote for Sen. Barack Obama.

“I felt like my vote was the vote that put him into office,” he told the Associated Press. “It was down to one vote and that was going to be my vote. And that may not be true, but that’s how much power it felt like I had.”

The hip-hop mogul and actor, who wasn’t afraid to use his star power to get people to the polls, felt he was making history by voting for the first black president.

“I’m not trying to be dramatic, but I just felt like, Martin Luther King, and I felt the whole civil rights movement, I felt all that energy, and I felt my kids,” he said. “It was all there at one time. It was a joyous moment.”

Fall Out Boy’s Pete Wentz was also spotted this morning voting in Beverly Hills, Calif. The rocker says he credits Vice Presidential nominee Joe Biden for his very existence.

“I would not be standing here actually in reality at all because my parents met working for Biden,” he said. “They met on the campaign, so they have this particular affection for Joe. He came to their wedding. If it weren’t for Joe Biden, I would not exist as a human being.”

Taylor Swift took advantage of early voting sites and cast her ballot a few days ago with her mom in Tennessee. She wouldn’t reveal who she chose, but gushed over the weekend, “I was really excited because I got to vote. I early voted, and I was really excited to be able to do that, and it as really something that I was looking forward to all year, ever since I turned 18, so that was really fun.”
