The just-debuted music video for Nicki Minaj‘s new song, “Right by My Side,” features something we don’t see every day: hip-hop superstars smooching. Minaj surprisingly cast fellow NYC rapper Nas to play her leading man in the video (and lover), which premiered Wednesday on MTV. The video also features Chris Brown (though he’s on hand to merely to sing a verse; no kiss for him).
As seems to be Minaj’s M.O. right now, a mix of romance and silliness (and Nas smoking a cigar) pervades much of the clip until the end. With about 30 seconds in the video left to go, we witness the payoff: the steamy lip-lock between the two stars. And, you don’t want to miss Minaj’s trademark, hard-to-describe facial expression.
