[IMG:L][IMG:L]After high profile romances with the likes of Ashton Kutcher and the failed engagements with agent Jeff Kwatinetz and Little Black Book grip Joe Macaluso, Brittany Murphy managed to keep her latest relationship under wraps. And little is known about the Sin City star’s new writer/director husband Simon Monjack though he is no stranger to the Hollywood fishbowl.
“We’re not really big on going out,” Murphy told Hollywood.com. “We like to spend quiet evenings at home together.”
The couple was recently married in the Hollywood home they now share and according to Monjack — an ordained rabbi himself — only a minister was present.
“I had to buy a lot of paparazzi photos to keep this relationship secret,” says Monjack.
A typical evening for the pair consists of a home cooked meal and concert courtesy of Monjack. “I like to play the piano and sing for Brittany,” he says.
Though the two have known each other for many years, their first official date took place in New York about nine months ago. She was filming in Paris while Monjack was working in Los Angeles.
“She called me and said she wanted to go out to dinner with me so I immediately told her to meet me in New York,” Monjack recalls with fondness. “I chartered a plane overnight and met her. She couldn’t believe I was really there.”
“Now we don’t want to wake up apart,” blushes Murphy.
They are set to work together on The White Hotel with Monjack in the director’s chair and Murphy starring. According to Monjack, Nicole Kidman and Meryl Streep were considered for the lead and the rights to the material are currently being disputed.
“Brittany is the only one to tell this story and it will be made,” says Monjack.
