In Touch Weekly’s Party Animals – Literally

When it comes to their pets, a collection of celebrities proved nothing is too good for their furry, feathered and scaled companions, especially in Hollywood, where Paris’ pal Tinkerbell and Britney’s Bit Bit are stars in their own right. Stars walked their furry best friends in style as they strolled the red carpet (stopping only for the occasional sniff) at In Touch Weekly’s party celebrating photographer Christopher Ameruoso and his new book Pets and Their Stars Unleashed.

And the bash was filled with a plethora of party animals: Along with the canine and feline guests, TV host Kerri Kasem (the darling daughter of legendary radio DJ Casey Kasem) rode her horse down the red carpet outside the Sunset Strip hotspot Cabana Club, while another partygoer came clad in the coils of her best boa constrictor buddy.

Pop star Pink (whose hair in now more blonde than fuscia) got the party started, bringing along her own four-legged escort. “My favorite animal is Elvis, my bulldog,” Pink told Hollywood.com. “And I’m here to support the cause. Any charity for animals I’m there.” The singer also came with a more formal date, longtime beau and Surreal Life star Carey Hart. “We have two rescues at home,” Hart explained. “Mutts we got almost three years ago now. Baily and Annie. And then we have another bulldog, Foxy. I travel so much and Foxy goes everywhere with me. So whether I’m staying at hotels, driving cross-country, she’s in my back seat just cruising with me. She’s a good companion. She’s my best friend–aside from Pink, obviously.”

Desperate Housewives daughter Andrea Bowen thought it would be fun to dress up her Yorkshire puppy Maxie by putting bows on her ears for the event, but Maxie really wasn’t having her friend’s attempts at canine couture. “I put her in little dresses,” admitted Andrea. “People think she’s a boy–plus her name is Maxie so that doesn’t really help. So I put her in little pink dresses with tutus. She has some feathery collars. At first she’ll stand still and she won’t move her neck and she won’t move–she’ll just stand there, then she’ll move a little bit. And then, after like ten fifteen minutes she’ll be like ‘Okay I want it off, Mom.’ Then I’ll take it off.”

The celebs’ pets enjoyed tasty treats and grooming and the stars had their own treat of watching Keyshia Cole perform. They also took part in an auction that benefited actress and longtime animal advocate Linda Blair’s organization World Heart Foundation for Animals, a cause that visits local shelters and finds permanent homes for abandoned pets on “death row.”

The night was fueled celebrity photographer Ameruoso and his passion for animals. “I needed to make a career change and I fell into photography,” the musician-turned-shutterbug explained. “I started doing this about six years ago for my love of animals and seeing celebrities put of their element. I thought it’d be a great way to capture and just really bring it to the public.”

Ameruoso wasn’t kidding about how much he adores his animals. Just wait until you hear what he did for his Chinese Crested dog, Stella Blue: “You know Stella is my ultimate baby and I’ve immortalized her by tattooing her name on my arm!”

We’re sure Stella appreciated the gesture, but it might give even the most devoted animal lover paws—er, pause.
