Every Thursday, Hollywood.com lists the 10 coolest celebs, movies and goings-on in the world of entertainment.
1. Jessica Simpson, for washing the General Lee in a string bikini in the music video for “These Boots Are Made for Walking.” ‘Nuff said!
2. Celebrity sex tapes, for revealing how naive stars can be. The latest star caught on tape is Irish actor Colin Farrell, who has filed a lawsuit against his ex-girlfriend, model-actress Nicole Narain, accusing her of trying to distribute and profit from their 15-minute “intimate” sex tape. According to Farrell, the then couple made the video more than two years ago, with the agreement they would never release it to the public. The lawsuit states the release of the videotape would irreparably harm the foul-mouthed Farrell‘s “reputation and career.”
3. Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling, for adding another $36 million to her fortune–only 24 hours after the sixth book of the boy wizard series went on sale. Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince hit the shelves at one minute past midnight July 16.
4. Johnny Depp for raking in his biggest box office opening ever with Charlie & the Chocolate Factory, despite predictions parents would opt to buy their kids the new Harry Potter book rather than a Willy Wonka ticket. The film grosses $56.1 million over the July 15 weekend.
5. Pamela Anderson and Tommy Lee, for believing the third time really is a charm. The former Baywatch star will reportedly tie the knot with rocker Lee this week–making it their third attempt at matrimony. The pair wed on a beach just days after they met in 1995 and remarried shortly after, wearing space suits–and went on to have two sons together, but divorced in 1998.
6. Trashy white guys who snag A-list celebs,
including Kevin Federline, who hypnotizes Britney Spears, and now Jesse James, who somehow got his hands on some Love Potion #9. James, who hosts Monster Garage on the Discovery Channel, married Speed queen Sandra Bullock at a ceremony held at a rented Californian ranch near Santa Barbara last weekend. This is Bullock‘s first time at the alter–and James’ third. The 35-year-old motorcycle mechanic has been married twice before and has three children: two with his first wife, Carla, and a third with his second wife, porn star Janine Lindemulder.
7. A valet at a drive-in car clean service in Beverly Hills, Calif., for refusing to clean Paris Hilton‘s Land Rover on July 18 because it was too messy. The car valet refused to clean her vehicle because the company is not allowed to touch personal items–and Hilton‘s car was full of underwear, phones and bags. A worker tells British newspaper the Daily Record, “Her car was jam-packed full of junk–personal stuff. There must have been at least 100 magazines, but more shocking than that, make-up, cell phones, handbags and clothes, including a lot of underwear.”
8. Outspoken singer Elton John, for vowing to keep his controversial opinions to himself. The singer, who famously accused Madonna of lip-synching and has made off-putting comments about George Michael, said he is determined to not speak his mind in public in future: “I had a hell of a time last year and this is the end of it. I haven’t spoken to (Madonna) since. She’s been in Kabbalah meetings ever since. I don’t think I’ll ever be forgiven for that one. Then I had the George Michael thing and the Posh Spice thing. I will keep my mouth shut now.”

9. The Island star Scarlett Johansson, for admitting she has “fat days.” Johansson, who has won her lucrative contracts with Louis Vuitton and Calvin Klein, said she is frustrated with the ridiculous demands showbiz places on its female stars. “Everyone in Hollywood is so damn skinny,” she says, “and you constantly feel like you’re not skinny enough. But I have ‘fat days’ and I accept that I’m never going to be rail thin.”
10. Ricky Martin, for knowing how to make a comeback. The Latino singer sent his latest single, “I Don’t Care,” out anonymously on a white label to clubs-and it proved an instant hit. The single–Martin’s first in five years–features vocals from stars Amerie and Fat Joe. The buzz around the song in the clubs reportedly became so immense radio stations were calling up and demanding to find out who was behind it.
