The ’10’ List: Hollywood’s Weekly Buzz

1. Maybe she meant syllables… “I’m going to get married a few times this month to the same guy,” Pamela Anderson said–then announced she would wed Kid Rock in ceremonies in Malibu, Detroit, Nashville and St. Tropez. When asked how she plans to cope with pre-wedding jitters, Pam replied: “I have two words for you: champagne.”

2. The Tabloids: Hollywood’s CIA… Practically every celebrity complains about the lies they spread, but once in a blue moon, a star admits there’s sometimes some truth in the supermarket weeklies. “Most of it is just crap anyway,” Scarlett Johansson told Hollywood.com in a recent interview. “It’s like, ‘Who the hell came up with that?’ You just have to ignore those things. But then when they print something that’s semi-true, it’s like, ‘Who the hell told them that?’”

3. Maybe it was the pool boy… Pool boy to the stars Jon LaHane claims Britney Spears fired him because she suspected he was befriending her hubby, Kevin Federline, to get info about her family. LaHane, who has tended pools for Barbra Streisand and James Cameron, lamented to national tabloid In Touch: “I was hanging out a little bit and she came out screaming at Kevin for lying around, then looked at me like I was to blame… She wants Kevin on a leash.”

4. He’s hooked on a feeling… In his new autobiography Making WavesDavid Hasselhoff said he wishes he’d romantically pursued Diana, Princess of Wales while she was alive, because they “clicked” when they met. We think his chances would be better if he pursued her now, but that’s just us. Hass goes on to say, “I could sense her pain. I always admired her. I probably would have gone after her if circumstances had been different.”

5. It’s ironic for real, not like Alanis Morissette means it… Scarlett Johansson will be the new face of sports giant Reebok. Scarlett, you see, is always bragging about eating junk and not exercising. “I’m all about fashion, cheeseburgers and bright-red lipstick,” she once boasted. So how does she explain the sponsorship? “It’s casual wear. It’s easy for going to get a cupcake, I guess, after yoga class.”

6. It’s OK, he cracked the window… PETA slams Orlando Bloom, PETA slams the press, PETA’s mad at the world, apparently. Here’s the lowdown: According to erroneous Internet reports, PETA slammed Orlando for leaving his dog in his car while he enjoyed a romantic dinner with Kate Bosworth. Then PETA slammed reports it slammed Orlando, saying, “When you watch the video footage, you can see he was at the beach, moved his car to the shade and had someone looking after the dog.”

7. Stars flub their line–even when they don’t have any… Emmanuelle Chriqui hit the red carpet for the world premiere of director Michael Mann’s Miami Vice at the Fox Westwood Village Theatre in Los Angeles (watch video). Emmanuelle was psyched about seeing the movie and told Hollywood.com, “I’m just excited to see what Michael Bay’s going to do with it!” Ouch, that’s embarrassing. Shit happens, right?

8. Did you hear the Big News… Former ‘N Sync singer Lance Bass surprised absolutely no one this week with his “I’m gay” revelation. Poor People magazine thought they had the scoop of the century. Lance said he came out now because the rumors “really were starting to affect my daily life. Now it feels like it’s on my terms.” Or could it be that Lance is developing a TV sitcom with Joey Fatone in which his character will be gay?

9. Stop talking, now Peter Cook has issued a public apology to his wife Christie Brinkley for cheating on her with a teenager. “I love my wife… For a lifetime, I’ve tried to prove how much I love her,” Cook said in a statement. And just when we were about to point out how that’s probably not going to fly with Christie, his attorney, Norman Sheresky, added in a statement: “He didn’t invent adultery. He didn’t invent the kind of person who would engage in it with him either.” And we bet she wore a mini skirt, too.

10. We fear for him… Colin Farrell, that is. The actor mocked his Minority Report co-star Tom Cruise on Today and Live With Regis and Kelly this week. Colin told Matt Lauer in a one-on-one interview he was being “glib again,” then turned around and glad-handed the audience a la Cruise after a commercial break on Live With Regis And Kelly just hours later. Either 1) Colin does not fear the wrath of Tom or 2) He got Tom‘s permission to use him to look, like, cool.
