What is DC League of Super-Pets about?
Superman’s dog, Krypto, teams up with a group of lovable pets with superpowers in this animated adventure for all ages. When evil mastermind Lex Luthor captures the Justice League, Krypto must enlist the help of a hound, pig, turtle, and squirrel to save the day.
The film is based on the superhero pet team first mentioned in the DC comics. However, the original animals are different from the initial team, including a cat, monkey, and horse. Krypto the SuperDog is the only original character from the comics and in the movie.
The cast of DC League of Super-Pets
The iconic duo Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart join forces again as powerful pets. Dwayne stars as Superman’s dog Krypto while Kevin plays Ace, Batman’s hound who gains super-strength. The rest of the superhero pet squad includes Vanessa Bayer as a potbellied pig who can grow and shrink, Natasha Lyonne as a turtle with super speed, and Diego Luna as a squirrel who acquires electric powers. John Krasinski and Keanu Reeves round out the main cast as Superman and Batman, respectively, with Marc Maron playing human enemy Lex Luthor and Kate McKinnon playing Lulu, an evil guinea pig.
Jared Stern directed and co-wrote the movie along with John Whittington.

In the trailer, Krypto is Superman’s best friend, and they go on adventures together in the big city. Unfortunately, the superhero dog does not have super social skills. Krypto must put his friendship abilities to the test though when a group of shelter pets gain superpowers from a freak accident. As the animals figure out how their powers work, they learn what it means to be a real team. Their first big task? Defeat a cute cat with lasers shooting out of its tail.
From the first look, the superhero comedy looks like a mix between a DC film and The Secret Life of Pets franchise— a film Kevin Hart also lent his voice talents.
