It’s nice to see that Hugh Jackman has standards and that whenever he and 20th Century Fox find a director for The Wolverine, it won’t be no skanky, run-of-the-mill filmmaker. It will be someone greater than or equal to their first choice: Darren Aronofsky.
While the search for the new director probably consists of a bunch of meetings and phone calls, I’d like to think it’s like The Bachelor. Each new director comes in and takes Hugh Jackman on a romantic date trying to woo him. Over candle light they talk about character motivations and plot points. Sometimes they go on special dates to work out and/or dance. Then at the end Jackman has a rose. Really I just like the thought of Hugh Jackman with a rose saying in his sexy Australian accent, “I’m sorry, but you do not live up to the memory of my Aronofsky. Goodbye.” Oh Hugh-Jackman-with-a-rose, how I wish you were real.
