The night may be dark and full of terrors, but this particular day will be bright and full of cups of water placed delicately atop slightly ajar bedroom doors. We’ve all been quite excited for Game of Thrones‘ return to television, and we finally have a premiere date: April Fools Day. Seriously. Not a joke.
The popular series’ second season will begin on Sunday, Apr. 1 at 9 p.m. ET/PT, allowing us all to take an hourlong break from booby trapping the back seats of our roommates’ cars to bask in the glory of Westeros. The second season will be ten episodes long.
In other HBO premiere date news, the new Julia Louis-Dreyfus comedy series Veep has also been given a series premiere date at time: Sunday, Apr. 22 at 10 p.m. ET/PT. The comedy casts Louis-Dreyfus as the new vice president of the United States, ensconced in the confusing and comical world of D.C. politics and government. You can watch the teaser for Veep here.
And along the very same lines, HBO has announced the initial broadcast date of its original TV movie Game Change, which examines the presidential candidacy of John McCain, focusing on his choice of Sarah Palin as his running mate. Ed Harris takes the role of McCain, while Julianne Moore pretty much embodies Sarah Palin to a tee. Woody Harrelson is also on board as McCain’s campaign strategist. Jay Roach directs.
