You just can’t keep movie actors off the small screen these days.
Looper and Lincoln star Joseph Gordon-Levitt will be returning to the medium that first made him famous 12 years after the end of 3rd Rock from the Sun. And he’s doing it by way of his smash success hitRECord, the online artists’ collective that fields submissions from aspiring musicians, filmmakers, and comedians, in search of the next big act.
Joseph Gordon-Levitt Won’t Play Batman
Gordon-Levitt has joined forces with Participant Media to launch a variety series on Participant’s new TV channel, Pivot, expected to launch August 1. The show, hitRECord TV, will do exactly what the online version has done: give a spotlight to artists who might not otherwise have the money or resources to publicize their work. Gordon-Levitt himself will host hitRECord TV, produce it, field submissions from musicians, filmmakers, and animators, and program the show’s lineup of content. Meaning that before long, Gordon-Levitt may be able to add another title to his resume: mogul.
