‘Old Spice Guy’ Isaiah Mustafa Joins ‘Charlie’s Angels’

Isaiah MustafaDo you remember Old Spice’s “I’m on a horse” commercial? Yes. We all do, vividly. It was cinematic fortitude bathed in zealous satire via a jet-fuel delivery reminiscent of the golden age of the burlesques Catskills. But what ever became of the ad’s star: Isaiah Mustafa, that pronounced young thespian who drove our energies to hysteria? A few things: he was on Chuck a bunch of times, and a movie here and there, including this summer’s Horrible Bosses. And now, the athlete-turned-actor will find his place on ABC’s Charlie’s Angels.

Mustafa will play ex-fiancee to Angel Annie Ilonzeh and a lawman himself: Detective Ray Goodson. Although both characters will be operating on the “good” side of the law, they will frequently find themselves at odds with one another, due to the nature of their relationship.

Charlie’s Angels will debut on ABC on Thursday, September 22 at 8/7c. Mustafa himself will first appear about about four episodes into the season.
