Long dead is the era of Must See TV Thursdays. While we might bask nostalgically in the memories of comedy done right, we are far gone from an NBC that ranks at the peak of the ratings game. For the first time in television history, as reported by Deadline, NBC looks to drop to fifth place in the precious February sweeps period. (Save them, Kenneth Parcell!)

The network, falling from the grace of a prosperous fall catalogue — with high-rated premieres like The New Normal and Go On — slips to a pitiable 1.2 rating among viewers 18-49. Dominating over NBC are contemporaries CBS (a strong leader at 4.9), Fox (2.0), ABC (1.7), and, most dramatically, America’s Spanish-language network Univision, which ranks at a 1.5 intake.

Plagued by a drought of ratings guarantors, such as The Voice or football programming, this particular February is one through which the Peacock will suffer. Once Spring hits, however, viewership might flock to NBC once more, bringing it back up to the Top 4, although we’d be remiss to hope for anything more.
