Hip Hangin’ with Young Hollywood

C’mon, Vogue

Of course, even the most chic scene-sters among the Young Hollywood crew don’t mind getting sand in their designer shoes, especially when the invite to the beachside bash comes from Teen Vogue.

Stylish beauties including Regina King and Joy Bryant mixed and mingled at the magazine Fashion Live event in sunny, seaside Huntington Beach just south of La La Land, but believe it or not the event was all about the guys: One Tree Hill‘s Tyler Hilton and Summerland‘s Taylor Cole hosted the event, and the bash’s other boyish beach bums included The O.C.‘s Nicholas Gonzales, Laguna Beach‘s Talan Torriero and The Bachelor‘s Andrew Firestone. Tyler hit the stage and kicked out songs from his debut album before a little more estrogen was added to the festivities when The Veronicas hit the stage.

Clubbin’ at Club Monaco

Lauren Bergfeld of Beauty and the Geek
From the sounds of our party hopping, it seems Young Hollywood may not stay at home most nights, but every so often they might want to party in.

The crew came out to Club Monaco on the always-action-packed Sunset Strip (right next door to the famous Mel’s Drive-In, where we spotted too-cute Elisha Cuthbert noshing with a pair of good-looking lads) to check out the store’s Crib-friendly new home collection, Club Monaco Home, benefiting the perfectly names charity A Place Called Home.

After we said “Hey!” to super-stylin’ Las Vegas vixen Molly Sims and watched DJ Qualls Hustle & Flow cocktails as we grooved to the bumpin’ ’80s retro spinnings of DJ Pesce, the celeb pickin’s got a bit slimmer (slimmer than DJ Qualls? Literally and figuratively) but still sexy. We spied Beauty and the Geek‘s husky-voiced honey Lauren Bergfeld in a barely hanging-on green top, The O.C.‘s sexy redhead Shannon Lucio in a shimmery aqua and lace number; pneumatic starlet Jenny McShane nearly busting out of her zig-zaggy, plunging-necklined mini-dress.

With eye-candy like this, Club Monaco looked more like the club scene–no wonder no one ever stays home!

Young Hollywood Tinseltown Teen Power List

Paris Hilton
It was the hot ticket the night before the Teen Choice Awards, and so of course all the hot gals and guys that make fans scream with delight turned out in droves to party at the Teen People “Young Hollywood Tinseltown Teen Power List” celebration. Held at the newly christened Cabana Club in the heart of Hollywood, the party was a who’s who of entertainment’s most popular under-30 stars.

There was Paris in one cabana, Lindsay in another, and Hilary over there; Ashlee Simpson and her new main squeeze, Wilmer Valderrama, kept a distance from Ms. Lohan, his ex, while Ms. Hilton‘s fiancé Paris Latsis was nowhere to be seen. Her huge engagement rock was definitely in evidence, however, and she looked very cute with her newly bobbed blonde hair and almost matching golden satin tunic top and slim jeans.

Ms. Duff, however, went off the skids with her weird bouffant hairdo, raccoon eyes, and shapeless gold lamé mini-dress. Doesn’t the 17-year-old know that she’s got plenty of time to look old, when she actually gets old? Her sister Haylie went with a basic black cocktail dress, looking much closer to a Teen People style favorite.

But there were plenty of successful styles at the packed outdoor party, although most of the guys went with the typical scruffy-boy uniform (ratty jeans and T-shirt) so popular around town. One Tree Hill (and September Teen People cover boy) Chad Michael Murray went slightly incognito in black beret and tinted glasses, but the tall hunk was still hard to miss. At least he added a jacket and cranberry dress shirt over his jeans. No sign of his co-star and wife Sophia Bush, although he seemed to be chatting with her by cellphone as he walked the red carpet. We spotted an unshaven Shane West, who came early and stayed late, and cutie Nick Cannon, who made it onto the Top Ten of the mag’s power index.

“It’s really cool to make the list,” he grinned as we squeezed through the crush of people near the bar, where he had just been handed a bottle of very expensive Louis Roederer Cristal champagne, “especially since I have two movies coming out in the next month! I’ve got The Underclassman and Roll Bounce with Bow Wow, cool, huh?” Definitely, if he looks as good on the big screen as he did that night!

Lohan showed off her power by jumping on the stage and joining DJ Samantha Ronson in picking tunes to spin. She’s one teen star who obviously knows how to have fun; many of the others (like Paris, for example) stayed tucked into their reserved cabanas and seemed downright bored with the teeming scene.

But some teen favorites are still not too jaded to have a good time. Tons of familiar faces were circulating through the exclusive party while sipping Patron tequila (those that were old enough, of course) and sampling sushi, crab cakes, and sinful desserts, including Desperate Housewives teen star Andrea Bowen, who wore just the right Conspiracy Eight mini-dress and groovy suede boots to the bash.

There was WB favorite Amanda Bynes, Nickelodeon’s Emma Roberts, and the Sky High kids–Danielle Panabaker, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, and Steven Strait–as well. Tennis ace and gorgeous gal Anna Kournikova turned heads in a white Grecian tunic, as did up-and-coming young stars Meagan Good, Hilarie Burton, and Katie Cassidy, the beautiful daughter of pop icon David Cassidy, whose simple style (denim capris and black top) went well with her arm candy, boyfriend Jesse McCartney.

The only downside to the Teen People party? No goodie bags! We figure it must be that all those teen power mongers already have all the swag they need, but to not even give out copies of the new issue, complete with that “Tinseltown Teen Power List”? What were the folks at Teen People thinking?
