Mike Myers Signs Up for Quentin Tarantino’s ‘Bastards’

Quentin Tarantino’s highly anticipated next movie, Inglorious Bastards, is fast becoming a star-studded affair.

Variety is reporting that Mike Myers has signed up for the World War II movie and will play a British general who helps come up with a scheme to wipe out Nazi leaders.

The Austin Powers star, who joins fellow A-lister Brad Pitt on Bastards, marks arguably the most unlikely Tarantino-movie cast member since John Travolta played a gangster in Pulp Fiction, and we all know how that turned out: Tarantino was credited with helping to revive Travolta’s career.

Myers could benefit similarly from a Tarantino-written role, following the commercial and critical failure of his latest movie, this summer’s The Love Guru.

Writer/director/actor Eli Roth (Hostel), who is close friends with Tarantino, has also been confirmed as a cast member.

Tarantino is also said to be courting actors Simon Pegg, Natassja KinskiDavid Krumholtz and BJ Novak, according to Variety, which reports that the movie will go into production on Oct. 13.
