Twitter’s ‘S*** My Dad Says’ Gets CBS Adaptation

CBS has ordered a script for a domestic comedy from Warner Bros. TV that is inspired by Justin Halpern’s Twitter feed, “Shit My Dad Says.”

Will and Grace alums Max Mutchnick and David Kohan are executive producing with Halpern writing the script with Patrick Schumacker, Variety reports.

Halpern is a 29-year-old senior editor for Maxim.com. He regularly tweets the musings of his 73-year-old father, many of which have to do with various bodily functions and taking potty-mouthed potshots at his son.

Mutchnick and Kohan will exec produce.

The feed has over 700,000 followers. The latest posting reads: “You look just like Stephen Hawking…Relax, I meant like a non-paralyzed version of him. Feel better?… Fine. Forget I said it.”

In September, Halpern landed a book deal for the feed with HarperCollins’ It Books.
