‘West Wing’ Tops With TV Critics

NBC’s critically acclaimed “West Wing” is praised again … by critics, natch. The White House drama was named program of the year and best new program by the Television Critics Association on Saturday. The drama also received an award for outstanding achievement in drama.

Among the other winners: “Malcolm in the Middle,” outstanding comedy series; HBO’s “The Corner,” best movie, miniseries or special; James Gandolfini, “The Sopranos,” best actor (“individual”) drama; Jane Kaczmarek, “Malcolm in the Middle,” best actor (“individual”) comedy; and “ABC 2000,” best news and information program.

Dick Van Dyke was the recipient of the career achievement award.
