Columbia Movie Theaters: Ragtag Cinema

Located in the heart of Columbia, Ragtag Cinema’s history dates back to 1998 when the all-volunteer Ragtag Film Society began screening films at a downtown concert venue. In 2001, this project transformed into Ragtag Cinemacafé, a movie house that served food from a local bakery. After undergoing many changes throughout the years and with help and funding from the community, the current Ragtag Cinema opened in the old Coca-Cola bottling plant in 2008.

Ragtag Cinema shows a combination of the latest Hollywood films, older fan-favorites, and lesser-known releases that you won’t find at most other movie theaters. Ragtag Cinema screens its films using digital and 35mm projection. The movie house is taking safety precautions against COVID-19, requiring guests to either provide proof of vaccination or a negative test result.
