Now that Modern Family has enough Emmys to bump up the gold standard and restart the economy (do it, Phil…we all need iPads), they can get back to releasing new promos for their upcoming third season. The clip below features Cameron (Eric Stonestreet) and the character we are bound to get to know a lot better this season, his and Mitchell’s adopted daughter Lily, now played by Aubrey Anderson-Emmons. Where Lily the baby was comical enough, Lily the toddler will up the ante in her participation in Cam and Mitchell’s (Jesse Tyler Ferguson) antics.
Below, we get a quick glimpse of what Cam and Lily will be dealing with this season. Cam has (against all odds) become a clingy, coddling parent, unable to let go of his daughter for even a second. This is where Modern Family‘s beauty comes in. It’s a perfectly real, sincere situation that has its share of comedy and of sadness—although we can probably expect an extra dose of the former.
Modern Family returns to ABC this Wednesday, Sept. 21 at 9 p.m. ET.
