The National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) plans to hold a hearing on Nov. 13 to delve into allegations by the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (AFTRA) that CBS has repeatedly failed to make available data about its affirmative action policies, the Los Angeles Times reported Wednesday. Although CBS issued a statement saying that the issue was limited to its Los Angeles station, KCBS-TV, AFTRA exec Chuck Worthman, told the Times that the issue extended to the network itself. “How do people who already work at CBS take advantage of the programs they say exist?” he asked. “If there are such programs, why won’t they make the specific information available to those employees?” A spokesman for the NLRB said that if the board determines the AFTRA complaint has merit, CBS could be compelled to disclose the information.
