Thursday: ‘October Road’

So, you’ve already watched the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade as well as your pants expand to dangerous proportions; now what?

Thanksgiving night isn’t exactly prime territory for primetime–some networks even replace new episodes of their shows with worn-out movies (i.e., NBC airs The Incredibles tonight instead of their regular lineup)–but ABC rolls out the second-season premiere of its promising drama October Road.

For those who haven’t seen it, the show centers on Nick Garrett (One Tree Hill’s Bryan Greenberg) and his return to Knights Ridge, Massachusetts, the town in which he grew up and from which he has been estranged for 10 years while becoming a famous author and screenwriter in New York. The ones he left behind are none too pleased.

Tonight’s season opener finds Nick and his best friend Eddie (Geoff Stults) trying to track down their buddy Owen (Brad William Henke) in New York City, while Nick’s ex, Hannah (Laura Prepon), finally comes to terms with her feelings for him. Got all that?!

[IMG:R]Tyler Perry’s House of Payne (Marathon) — 4/3c-9/8c on TBS
The 10-epsiode House of Payne marathon is not to be consumed on Thanksgiving Day, by any means, but it’s certainly TiVo-able for those who are interested but fear they’re too late to the Tyler Perry bandwagon–which, judging by the show’s massive ratings and Perry‘s movie success, isn’t very many of you.

[IMG:L]Mean Girls — 8/7c, 10/9c on TNT
Ah, it wasn’t so long ago that Lindsay Lohan was known for her acting career that was about to explode. We all know what has, and has not, happened since, and perhaps TNT wants to rub it in a little by airing her best movie twice. Funny how the supporting actress (Rachel McAdams) and the writer (Tina Fey) have had careers take off post-Mean Girls, almost as though in Lohan’s stead.
