Attention (lady) Dexter fans, your false hopes are restored. Michael C. Hall and his super sexy timbre are getting a divorce from costar and his wife of two years, Jennifer Carpenter. While I’m a little disappointed that he’ll no longer have built-in awkwardness with his onscreen sister due to the fact that in real life they’re totally doing it, the news brings back that little glimmer of delusional Hollywood hope that makes it so much fun to watch an attractive leading man onscreen.
While it’s a little sad that the cancer survivor will be left on his own, it really seemed like it was bound to happen. Haven’t actors learned by this point that dating your TV costar is a surefire way to make sure your relationship or marriage has an expiration date? I mean, hello, there is a wasteland of failed relationships throughout TV history; there’s really only room for one or two ridiculously happy couples like Mark Consuelos and Kelly Ripa, but there’s an entire desert full of Keri Russells and Scott Speedmans (Felicity) and Jennifer Garners and Scott Foleys (Alias). In other words, the odds were pretty much against them.
