Jumanji: Open World Trailer Reveals First Look at Epic Final Chapter

Sony has released the first trailer for Jumanji: Open World, giving fans a preview of the highly anticipated third and final installment in the modern Jumanji franchise. The new film reunites fan favorites Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, Jack Black, and Karen Gillan for one last action-packed adventure.

The rebooted Jumanji series began with Welcome to the Jungle in 2017 before continuing with The Next Level in 2019. Together, the two films earned more than $1.7 billion worldwide by reinventing the beloved 1995 classic, replacing the magical board game with a video game that transports players into the bodies of adventurous avatars.

Returning Cast and New Faces

Alongside Johnson, Hart, Black, and Gillan, several familiar faces are back for the finale, including Danny DeVito, Nick Jonas, Awkwafina, Marin Hinkle, Bebe Neuwirth, Lamorne Morris, and Rhys Darby. New additions Dan Hildebrand and Jack Jewkes also join the ensemble.’

Jake Kasdan returns to direct after helming the previous two films. He also co-wrote the screenplay with Jeff Pinkner and Scott Rosenberg. Producing the film are Matt Tolmach, Dwayne Johnson, Dany Garcia, Hiram Garcia, and Kasdan.

Jumanji: Open World  Release Date Moves to Christmas

Originally slated for a December 11 release, Jumanji: Open World will now arrive in theaters on Christmas, setting up a major holiday box office battle. The move places the film just behind the releases of Dune: Part Three and Avengers: Doomsday, a high-profile matchup movie fans have already nicknamed “Dunesday.”

The trailer promises the same blend of comedy, adventure, and body-swap chaos that made the previous entries such crowd-pleasers while teasing a larger-scale journey that aims to bring the modern Jumanji saga to an exciting conclusion.
