Punk rockers to honor Ramone at birthday bash

Cheap Trick, Blondie and The Misfits will perform at the Life’s a Gas: Joey Ramone’s Birthday Bash, a tribute to the late Ramones frontman, who died April 15 of lymphoma, Rolling Stone reports. The event is scheduled for Saturday, May 19, what would have been Ramone’s 50th birthday, at New York City’s Hammerstein Ballroom. There also will be video greetings by friends and musicians who were unable to attend, as well as speakers who will take the stage to remember the legendary punk rocker.
