S3:E12 “You’re not going to like what I have to say.” – Akalitus
As Jackie was dealing with the people in the hospital’s waiting room, Akalitus approached her and told her that HR had ordered all the nurses to submit to mandatory urine tests and that nurses who refused the test would be fired. Kelly walked in on their exchange and was informed of the test as well. But once Akalitus left, Kelly showed Jackie what was inside the paper bag he was carrying, and it was fully of beverages and vitamins that he was going to spend the whole day ingesting so his urine test would come back negative for all the pot he’d been smoking (you’ll recall how last episode ended with the two of them in a bar, and admitting to each other that they both took the Fentanyl patches that were supposed to be promptly delivered to Oncology). Jackie asked if chugging drinks and taking vitamins was a technique that only flushed THC out of one’s system, and Kelly said unfortunately, it didn’t work for anything stronger.
“Do you think that’s the bride? She seems really nervous.” – Zoey
Cooper’s birthday wedding finally arrived, and he spent the day in scrubs to draw attention to the fact that he was saving his suit for the ceremony. When Zoey returned from scrambling around the city and collecting enough birthday cakes to make a wedding cake, Jackie went outside to meet her and saw the bride pacing back and forth, smoking a cigarette, seemingly nervous. Suddenly, the bride put out her cigarette and went inside the hospital, but then moments later she ran back out, tossed her bouquet into a trashcan, and got in a taxi.
“Just spit it out.” – Jackie
Kevin showed up at the hospital with Grace and Fiona and demanded to talk to Jackie. O’Hara took the girls off to entertain them with x-rays and Jackie took Kevin down into the basement because he said the conversation he was about to have with her was one he didn’t want to have in the house with the girls in the next room. Once they were alone, Kevin started talking about how wrong it is to cheat on your spouse just because your marriage got hard, and Jackie got frustrated because she thought he was getting ready to accuse her of having an affair with Eddie. After some more bumbling, Kevin admitted that he had an affair and Jackie dropped to her knees and sat on the linoleum and said she didn’t know what she was supposed to do. Kevin began to plead for forgiveness and said that his relationship with the other person was over and told Jackie that he would never cheat on her again. And just as Jackie told him to pack his bags and get out of her house, we saw Akalitus drop Jackie’s urine sample into the trash.
