TV networks and cable news networks continued to air uninterrupted coverage of the disaster. “I have no idea when commercial breaks will return,” MSNBC President Erik Sorenson told today’s New York Daily News. “I can’t imagine leaving live coverage, given the fast-moving developments still unfolding.” The newspaper estimated that broadcasters have been losing $100 million a day since they dropped advertising Tuesday morning when they began live coverage of the New York events.
