Looks like the troubled production of Men in Black III has suffered another setback: Alec Baldwin has dropped out due to scheduling conflicts. And no wonder — the project’s resume date has been bumped back almost as much as the Spider-Man musical. Seeing as 30 Rock practically throws awards at Baldwin, I think he made the right choice choosing it over a second sequel to a Will Smith sci-fi movie.
But, Baldwin is still hopeful! Really hopeful, it turns out, about Rock of Love. He admits he won’t be singing that much, but has nevertheless started seeing a vocal coach. We appreciate the extra effort Alec. More good news? He won’t dance. “No. It’s not that kind of thing. It’s not Glee, it’s rock and roll” he said. And while I’ll be the judge of that (it is being directed by the guy who did The Pacifier, which doesn’t exactly scream rock and roll), it does give me a little bit of hope for the film. A weeeee tiny bit of hope. Itsy, bitsy, tiny point of hope.
