Like I said, stop imagining that this headline means your fanboy dreams are coming true. Christina Hendricks has signed on for a film — a non-adult-only, actually legitimate film despite the way the title sounds — to pass the time in this giant chasm between us and the return of Mad Men. She’s readying herself for the project, called Seconds of Pleasure, which follows a group of people on an airplane and connects them through vignettes of what I think we can assume are their lives before they board the plane. So, it’s like Lost, if the plane never crashed and the series only lasted two hours? Weak.
In all honesty though, it looks like it could be fairly interesting. Hendricks will play a character who catches her husband (Brendan Fraser — like he could get her) in a “compromising position.” Translation: CHEATER. (And on someone that hot, too. For shame.) Also boarding this plane of memories are Matt Dillion, Julia Stiles, and Kristin Scott Thomas.
Even if the film goes a little off course, it’s nice to see that filmmakers are allowing Hendricks to venture outside the Joanie box (as fabulous as it may be). She really should be a bigger name in the business, but it’s looking like that’s only a matter of time until she really hits her stride.
