Every person has that one film that truly defined their childhood. Upon every repeat viewing of the movie, waves of nostalgia roll on the mind bringing back fresh memories of days past. It can be a film you saw with a group of friends and begin quoting it like it was your own secret language. Or it can be that one film that so perfectly summed up your childhood it could be a documentary. Or it could be that movie you saw twice in a row because the girl you liked showed up for the screening after the one you saw and you hung around to talk to her after the film while you waited on your parents to pick you up (not that that happened or anything).
Men in Black was not that film. Nor was Men in Black 2. But Men in Black 3? Strangers things have happened (no they have not).
Anyway, MIB3 just got a whole lot classier and British-ier. Emma Thompson has joined the cast that includes other big time actors who needed a pay check like Will Smith, Tommy Lee Jones, and Josh Brolin.
The story revolves around Smith’s character K, or J, or L, or M, or some other letter going back in time to the reign of JFK to talk to Jones’ past self. Thompson will probably pay Jones’ past self. Nope, wait. I kept reading the article and it looks like she’ll play the head of MIB, a position twice drunkenly played by Rip Torn, and Brolin is the past self. Ok, I guess that makes more sense. But if she wants to live up to The Legend of Torn (soon to be copyrighted), she’ll have to come to the set drunk and with no pants.
