James Franco, the man with too many jobs, is joining Winona Ryder in The Stare, the initial project from the brand new producing company, Waterstone Entertainment. Franco will deal with Ryder’s character, a playwright who goes all Nina Sayers (Black Swan, folks) while staging a production. She starts to lose her grip on what’s reality and what’s in her head and begins to think she’s the victim of some ridiculous plot. Seriously, this sounds just like Black Swan. Did Ryder get a little into her over the hill ballerina character in the Darren Aronofsky movie? Is she trying to reclaim her youth by besting Natalie Portman? Probably not, but come on, it’s eerily similar.
Anyway, Franco will take on the role of one of the players in her production. We’re guessing he’ll be part of what drives Ryder crazy since he seems to be doing such a good job at doing that to the public already. There’s one little problem though: does he know he can’t do this job via Skype?
